Voices: Use Your Voice in Suno
Voices lets you add your own voice to Suno-generated songs. Once your voice is set up, songs created with this feature will use your voice instead of a default Suno singer. This article walks through how to create a voice profile and use it when generating a song.
Before You Begin
Make sure you have an audio recording of your voice — either recorded in real time or as an existing audio file. Acapella recordings work best, but files with background music are also accepted (Suno will automatically isolate the vocal using stem splitting).
Step 1: Open the Add Voice Dialog
There are two ways to get started:
• Click the Add Voice button in Create.
• Click the Try Now button if it appears on your screen.
Both options open the same voice creation dialog.
Step 2: Create or Select a Voice
The dialog will show a list of any voice profiles you have previously created. You can either select an existing voice to reuse it, or create a new one by clicking Create Voice.
When creating a new voice, you have three options for the audio source:
• Use a voice from a song in your library — select a Suno song that already contains your voice.
• Record audio in real time — sing or speak directly into your microphone.
• Upload an existing audio file — upload a pre-recorded file of your voice from your device.
Step 3: Upload or Record Your Audio
Once you have selected your audio source, proceed to upload or record your clip. You can use an uploaded audio or audio recording from 15 seconds up to 4 minutes, then you can choose the best 2 minutes of your file. After uploading, you can preview the audio to confirm it captured your voice correctly.
Tip: Acapella recordings (voice only, no backing music) tend to produce the cleanest results along with a good microphone recorded in an acoustically neutral environment. However, if your file includes music, Suno will automatically run a stem extraction to isolate the vocal track.
When you are satisfied with the preview, click Use Voice to proceed.
Step 4: Verify Your Voice
Suno will display a short phrase for you to read aloud. This spoken recording is compared against your uploaded singing recording to confirm they are from the same person.
The system also verifies that you actually said the words shown. This step protects against the unauthorized use of other people's voices, such as collaborators, creative partners, and public figures.
Speak the phrase clearly when prompted and wait for verification to complete.
Step 5: Complete Your Voice Profile
After verification, fill in the optional profile fields:
• Skill level — rate your vocal ability (e.g., beginner, intermediate, advanced).
• Profile image — optionally generate or upload an image to represent this voice.
• Voice name — give the profile a memorable name so you can find it easily later.
Check the confirmation box to affirm that you have the rights to use this voice, then click Save.
Step 6: Generate a Song with Your Voice
Your new voice profile is now loaded into the create form. To use it in future sessions, click Add Voice and select it from the top of the list.
From the create form:
1. Paste in your lyrics.
2. Add style descriptors (e.g., country ballad, acoustic).
3. Enter a song title.
4. Confirm the Voice model is selected in the model dropdown.
5. Click Create. You’ll want to have the Audio Influence slider up fairly high.
Suno will generate two songs using your voice.
