Remix FAQ's

What is a Remix?

In Suno, the term Remix encompasses four workflows: Cover, Extend, Reuse, and Speed. For example, if another creator has Remix enabled for their track, you can make your own Cover version, and attribution to the original displayed alongside your new track!

Can I control which songs from my library can be Remixed?

Of course! You can enable or disable Remix on any of your songs at any time! Go to More Actions (...), then find Visibility & Permissions and use the toggle next to Allow Remixes

What happens if someone uses my song?

No matter how many times your song is Remixed, each version will lead back to your original. When listening to someone else's version, there's a visual that is clickable back to your original work. If someone covers their version, your original work can still be traced back to. Additionally, you'll be able to view all of the remixes of your song in the right sidebar!

Who owns the Remixed version of my song?

In a perfect world, the people who use Remix see this as social and collaborative, and welcome the diversity that will come with allowing your song to be used as inspiration. That said, remixes are not eligible for commercial use.

For example, if Creator A makes the original song and Creator B made a cover of the song, Creator B may not know if those lyrics were written or generated, and thus shouldn't attempt to monetize something they don't own. Rather than ownership, it might be helpful to think about who has commercial use rights to the material. In this case, only the original work would be eligible.

Are Remixes eligible for commercial use?

If you remix someone else's song, your version is not eligible for commercial use. If someone remixes your song, their version is not eligible for commercial use. In both cases only the original is eligible for commercial use if it was made while subscribed.

If you remix your own song that was made while subscribed, and your remix was made while subscribed, then that new version will be eligible for commercial use.
