Can I register my songs with my region's copyright office?

Edited

Songs made while subscribed are granted commercial use rights, but registering them is a bit more complicated than that!

In the US, if you wrote the lyrics to your song by yourself (unassisted, 100% self authored), you would automatically be considered the copyright holder to those lyrics. As such, those lyrics can be registered with the copyright office.

Currently, registering an AI generated output would require significant human contribution, which is to be determined by the copyright office. As such, we cannot guarantee that the US copyright office would accept your Suno song, as we don't make the determination of what is considered significant, nor do we prove that lyrics you input are actually yours (though our Terms of Service imply they should be).

Copyright law can vary from region to region, and the rules are still being refined to help define copyright and protect works that were created with AI. You may consider consulting a qualified attorney to advise you about the latest developments and the degree of copyright protection available in your region for the output you generate using Suno.
